Day 101 Purakaunui Falls, Matai Falls, Picnic Point

The rains have stopped and it is a glorious day.  We have a number of things we wanted to do on our agenda today and that included three waterfalls.  We are hoping all the rain has enhanced what we are going to see.  The falls were all at the end of a hike, anywhere from 30 - 40 minutes but it was such a nice day, who cared.

In travelling from one falls to the other we passed some very photogenic farmland.  After all the rains the green or should I say greens just seem to jump out at you.

We stopped for a late lunch at Picnic Point and then walked the beach.  There are usually a lot of birds and sea lions on the beach but today there were just too many people.  So we contented ourselves with taking pictures and just enjoying the walk.

We were heading to our last stop when we came to Florence Hill Lookout.  The vista gave us a great view of Tautuku Beach to the south and the Pacific coast to the north.

We found a campsite close to our last stop so we booked in for the night.  While checking in we found out that it was too late to visit Cathedral Caves as it can only be done at low tide.  We decided just to take it easy for the balance of the day and take in the Caves tomorrow.  We did a little forward planning prior to calling it a day.  It was nice to have the good weather back.
